Happiness never goes out of style.

Tell me one thing. How do you see our coming future? how its gonna be? will it be like they show us in movies? will artificial intelligence take over this world? or maybe aliens, if that is a thing. or what if there will be an apocalypse and we will have to shift underground? will the theories of demographic transition and population start showing its true nature? We will never know but can only speculate. we haven’t seen the future. but we have seen the past. and one thing is clear that what there was yesterday is no more today and what there is today is not going to be tomorrow. But the question here is, should it be?

It’s December! which is widely celebrated as a season of joy and happiness. a feeling of togetherness and cherished love. So if we are celebrating something its gotta be pretty important isn’t it? I read a quote somewhere ” I worry there is something broken in our generation, there are too many sad eyes on happy faces”. holds true in every sense. The government of Bhutan understands. Gross National Happiness is a philosophy that guides the government of Bhutan. It includes an index which is used to measure the collective happiness and well-being of a population. Gross National Happiness is instituted as the goal of the government of Bhutan in the Constitution of Bhutan. According to this Index India was ranked 133 out of 156 countries. We have a Happiness minister now in Madhya Pradesh.   ( who is wanted in a murder case), yeah! that is funny. It’s a good sign though that we are acknowledging this issue. But what is not right is why are we in this position in the first place that we need a minister of happiness to be happy.  Mahatma Gandhi once said, “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony”.

We are so into pseudo development and western societies that we forgot what we have here. Do you know there are villages in Britain where there is no development policy by law? because they want to preserve there villages and culture. Because they understand what it means. I can only Imagine the times when the development was still a philosophy. When the population was in villages. Village life has its own charm. the beauty of village life is not just the fresh air, the open fields and the clean river, it’s not just the comfort of afternoon nap under a tree or a good night sleep under the glory of stars. but it is also the beaming smile on the faces of people. their pure heart and a fair share of innocence. its beauty lies in that good morning hello from a random person. After all the hardships they suffer from, the real beauty lies in their ability to stay happy no matter what. If you want to see happiness go and see them in the evening sitting together after whole day work and laughing, almost on everything and anything. They are happy because they are satisfied. they are content with what they have. Being satisfied with what you have is one of the best qualities a person can possess. have you ever seen children laughing? they don’t need any reason to laugh or to be happy. they just are happy. they would laugh at almost anything. Because their minds are not as polluted as ours. According to me If a person is capable of laughing at smallest of things is the happiest person.

We may be dying from inside but we are the happiest person alive on our social media. How often you see an honest “This was my day” on your Instagram feed. what you see is super party pictures, dancing stories, and puppy faces. Our happiness is now subjected to how good can we portray it on social media. we can not sleep without scrolling our facebook pages, we need a drink or two to open our hearts out and we need puppy videos to laugh. this is what happiness looks like in our generation. No matter how much we try but we can’t stop deceiving ourselves.

Whenever I have to wish someone, I wish them happiness. because for me that is the most important and precious thing to have. you have to start understanding the real meaning of happiness. You should be able to look into your heart and find it. I believe its there. deep inside somewhere. Be satisfied and content whatever you have. Work hard to attain a certain level of happiness and then stay on it. Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears. bring the child inside you out and spread smiles wherever you can because that’s the best gift ever.

MAY YOU FIND YOUR HAPPINESS.
